I have always had a passion for writing and researching behavior change, human movement and human performance—but my journey hasn’t been traditional. In fact, I struggled through composition classes in both high school and college (I even took Comp I twice!). So today, calling myself a writer and researcher is a victory in itself. For as long as I can remember, I’ve joked about using my own body and my kitchen as my personal lab—testing, learning, and growing, often alongside my boys, who I love working out with as well as cooking with and for. Professionally, I’ve led research initiatives for corporations and universities, identifying wellness needs and translating those insights into meaningful programs, curriculum, products, and services. While I initially built my brand without formal publication, stepping into the role of author and published researcher has been a transformative part of my journey. Today, my greatest joy is contributing to the growing body of knowledge in human movement, behavior change and human performance. I am deeply grateful for every person who has supported, challenged, and encouraged me along the way.

Participants Needed: PRO CHEERLEADER SURVEY
If you are a former pro cheerleader, please click here to be a part of my current study. Finish Strong!
Background and Purpose: The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between athletic identity and self-esteem among retired cheerleaders. This research aims to understand the psychological adjustments that occur after retirement and how changes in athletic identity affect overall self-esteem. The findings may contribute to supporting retired athletes as they transition into post-career life.
Participants Needed: PRO CHEERLEADER PRIVATE, CONFIDENTIAL INTERVIEW
If you are a former pro cheerleader and you are interested in helping build the body of knowledge growing confidence levels among pro alums, click here for more information. Dr. Tina is currently holding semi structured interviews.
Background and Purpose: The purpose of this study is to explore the resilience and positivity exhibited by retired cheerleaders, particularly in relation to their experiences with team defeats and the challenges they faced during and after their careers. Using Self-Determination Theory (SDT), the study will investigate the factors that contribute to cheerleaders' ability to maintain a positive outlook despite adversity, focusing on their sense of autonomy, competence, and relatedness. Additionally, the research will examine how their emotional attachment to their coaches, teams, and sport might reflect a form of Stockholm Syndrome, where they continue to idealize and feel loyal to environments that may have been harmful or demanding. The findings will provide valuable insights into the psychological dynamics of cheerleading and the importance of mental health support for athletes transitioning out of competitive sports.
Participants Needed: SURVEY
If you are between 40-90 years of age, Dr. Tina is looking for participants to actively participate in growing the body of knowledge on longevity, healthy living and thriving in later years.
